I cannot recommend Choice Celebrant Training highly enough. From the very beginning, the experience has been professional, supportive, inspiring and genuinely exceptional. Ellie Farrell is an outstanding trainer whose knowledge, warmth and passion for celebrancy shine through in everything she does. She creates a learning environment that feels welcoming, encouraging and safe, while still delivering training to an incredibly high professional standard. Her guidance is clear, thoughtful and practical, and she has a wonderful ability to build confidence while helping each person develop their own authentic style. The quality of the course, resources and ongoing support has been excellent. Ellie is approachable, responsive and clearly committed to ensuring her students feel fully equipped and confident as they move forward into their celebrant careers. The service I have received has been first-class throughout. Choosing Choice Celebrant Training has been one of the best decisions I could have made, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Ellie and the training to anyone considering becoming a celebrant.

I recently completed intensive training in Wedding, Funeral and Naming Day Ceremonies with Choice Celebrants. The training I received was outstanding, and as the name suggests, very in-depth. I cannot recommend Ellie highly enough. She was not only extremely knowledgeable and incredibly warm and friendly, but I felt, and still feel completely supported by her. Each course is tailor made to the individual learner’s requirements and as a result, upon completion I felt very confident in my ability to create beautiful, bespoke ceremonies. If you are considering professional celebrant training, you really need look no further.

I studied funeral celebrancy with Nicky who made you feel at ease. Everything was covered and with Choice, they are there to answer questions after your training too. I am now studying the wedding celebrancy with Ellie, which I am really enjoying. Afterwards will go on to do naming ceremonies. A great place to study, and lovely tutors too.

Just finished a 1-2-1 peer mentor review with Ellie. I have been a bit stuck with my website and bookings this year so knew I needed a refresh . Ellie has helped me dismantle my brick wall and gain new perspective. Feeling refreshed and ready to take on some new challenges and refurb my site. All businesses need reviewing periodically, and sometimes having an outside view on it is all it takes to hit that refresh button thanks Ellie

I cannot recommend this training highly enough. You will learn things here that are not taught by other course providers. Everything is given a cultural and historical context. I was surprised with the quality of writing that I was able to produce with the encouragment of my tutor. You won't regret embarking on this course.

Ellie is a skilled and creative teacher of all things ceremonial. She is supremely knowledgable and shares wisdom, tips and encouragement throughout the course. Her approach has supported me to find my own style and authenticity for creating and crafting ceremonies. I always look forward to the sessions and come away eager to complete assignments and develop my skills. Totally recommend Choice Celebrancy Training. Thank you so much Ellie!

Thank you to Nicky for your excellent training. It was a difficult time for me and I wasn’t sure if I was going to cope with it due to personal circumstances but I did. Nicky was patient and a great teacher! A great experience and I am so glad I did it.

As an established Independent Funeral Director, I am regularly approached by Funeral Celebrants, both new and experienced. All claim to offer unique personalised services, but, having sat through countless funeral services few are memorable. Most seem to contain similar words and be demonstrative of a script. It is uplifting to see a break with tradition and know the Funeral Celebrants of the future trained by this company will have a pioneering approach to funeral services for families.

Ellies training was selected due to her high reputation that was only enhanced during the Funeral Celebrancy course. Calming, Confident, Patient, Knowledgeable, Supportive, Fun and Caring. Would be happy to offer feedback and recommend to anyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

A celebrant is someone who writes and performs ceremonies marking milestones, relationships, and achievements in life (and when someone has died).

A ceremonialist is a person who has been trained in creating and holding space, to write and perform ceremonies as a celebrant would, but also to create rituals. We train celebrants and ceremonialists.

Our wedding and the funeral courses involve 10 sessions, each up to 2 hours long. There is a 5 month completion date for either of these courses which can be extended on request.
Information about completion timeframes for other courses can be found on each course page.

Each course involves one to one, face to face, learning through a live video call. We do not train celebrants using videos or pre-recorded materials.

Currently, celebrants in England and Wales are unable to officiate legal marriage ceremonies. Celebrants ceremonies are about love, unity and relationships. Each one is unique and should be personalised.

Do you want a full time career or a part time role as a celebrant? Gaining work might not be as easy as others lead people to believe, but this can be the same in many jobs. We will inform you how to market your business, including advice on using social media, how to be successful at wedding fairs, how to engage with funeral directors and help you to start and grow your unique business.

Currently, there aren’t any nationally or internationally required qualifications needed to work as a celebrant. Our courses are designed to be rewarding in self-determination and personal achievement, awarding you with knowledge, relevant information and business marketing to be a successful celebrant.

Continuing support and advice when needed will always be given to those who train with us. We also support and advise many celebrants who did not train with us. We have a Facebook group for our community, you can get further information and support from this group when required.

Yes, we offer course fee concessions to all of our celebrant community.

No, we do not charge an annual membership to stay part of our Choice Celebrant Community.
