Handfasting Training Course
Personalised Online Training
What is a Handfasting Ceremony?
Handfasting is potentially the oldest wedding ritual; a symbolic and historical custom. Handfasting is a Pagan wedding ritual, but it can also be incorporated into a non-Pagan ceremony. It can also be included into a vow renewal, commitment or anniversary ceremony.
Handfasting involves wrapping ribbons, a braid, or material around the joined hands of those the wedding is for. Vows and words of promises can be said during the ceremony. Handfasting has evolved and its origins and traditions are still upheld within Pagan beliefs. It is the most requested unity ceremony for celebrants, but many are apprehensive about offering handfasting to their clients from lack of confidence or minimal information during training.
